I just replaced my head gaskets as it was using water and while pulling it down it became evident that the leak was caused by bad workmanship at A1 on the prior warranty work I had done involving the front head replacement due to a porous casting. Mine was delivered with 7kms on it and I drained the oil before I rode it and had water in the oil! They were not automatically covered by warranty for a re seal you had show evidence of water in the oil and then have it done and they were done on a case by case basis. In Australia there was a recall by the importer for all 06 and 07 bikes to be resealed, from the orange locktite to the 3 bond, the dealer was given the reseal kit and paid for 7hours labour to do the job, but it would appear that not all have been done, I wont say for sure that mine has not been done but the dealer was not real comfortable on the phone when I asked him yesterday. The bike is out of warranty and I am checking with the dealer who sold it new to see if the reseal was done, at this point it is all pointing to the fact that the dealer didnt bother to do the reseal on the bike under warranty, which will no doubt become a large issue, as I will make it such, if it checks out that they were neglegent in doing the recall. I have had a similar issue with my bike, it had been sitting for more than 3 months when I got it, first ride it spat out latte from the air box overflow, feared the worst, went straight home droped the oil, all clear?, second ride same thing, again droped oil, all clear, third ride at the top of a really big hill (off road) did it again, shortly after the clutch began grabbing, checked the gear box low oil, not happy, 70kms from the nearest service station, with no sealed roads, and some of the biggest hills you have ever seen in between, limped it to the servo over the next 4hours ( put 500ml of oil in and presto, did not spew any oil for the rest of the ride, but on the final mountain climb of the day the clutch let go, successfull throwing me off the bike and braking a few fingers, when I dropped the oil at the end of the day the oil in the box was clear, with the exception of a missive amount of clutch material, but no water, I am replacing the water pump seal just to eliminate the probability of that seal leaking.
